Garments industry is the number one contributor to Bangladeshi economy. It is the largest contributor to the economic growth in Bangladesh. Almost 6 million people, mostly women are involved in this industry. Country is earning increasing foreign currency with this trade, however, the monthly pay of these workers are stagnant or declining. Both government and factory owners are against of providing the minimum wage that are essential for hand to mouth existence. Moreover, Bangladeshi government is using brutal attacks by police and other secret agencies against this poorest segment of workers to stop their campaign for minimum reasonable wage.
