Contact The European Union to rescind the Dog Passports from Ireland to England as He is the English Minister for DEFRA

Labrador Retriever Rescue Southern England, along with other dog charities over the last 10 years have rescued thousands of dogs from Southern Ireland. LRRSE have found wonderful homes for beautiful Labradors and Labrador Retriever crosses as shown in the picture above. However, the European Commission has introduced pet passports for all dogs traveling from Ireland to England. This now means it costs approximately £500 to help save a dogs life. It is too expensive for the charities to rescue all the dogs that need help and HUNDREDS OF HEALTHY DOGS ARE BEING PUT DOWN EVERY WEEK, WHETHER THEY ARE YOUNG OR OLD, LARGE OR SMALL. This is not right.

We do not have pet passports to transport dogs to and from the Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Isle of Wight or between Wales or Scotland… so why Ireland?

Yes, there are issues around too many dogs needing rescuing in Ireland but promoting inexpensive or free neutering would address this. There are puppy farms that need to be closed down and heavy sentences and fines implemented for anyone carrying out this practice. Implementing a pet Passport in Ireland is not the answer to these problems and is, every week, causing the death of hundreds of healthy, loving and loyal dogs that could easily be offered a home in England.

PLEASE GET THE EU TO RESCIND THE PET PASSPORT SO THAT DOG CHARITIES CAN SAFELY BRING THE DOGS TO ENGLAND TO BE RE-HOMED AND TO PUT PRESSURE ON IRELAND TO ADDRESS THE NEUTERING AND PUPPY FARMING IN A MORE APPROPRIATE MANNER .

YOUR SIGNATURE ON THIS PETITION WILL RAISE AWARENESS and I WILL TAKE IT TO MY MP DAMIAN COLLINS.

PLEASE DONATE TO LABRADOR RETRIEVER RESCUE SOUTHERN ENGLAND AND OTHER DOG CHARITIES THAT ARE ALSO FIGHTING TO HELP AS MANY DOGS AS POSSIBLE TO STOP THIS NEEDLESS SLAUGHTER.
