Since April 2018 in Malta 8 building collapsed because of a law allowing exavation works next to properties which cannot stand by themselves.

On March 2nd 2020 the 8th building self collapsed adjacent to an excavation work, burying a 54yo woman, mother of 2. The architect signed the go ahead with "minimum rish of collapse" is a shareholder of the building company.

The negligence of the government brought to take no safety procedure since years and OHSA has no power facing the building contractors which are very linked to Maltese planning authority and the government. Enforcement has no resources.

Many tragedy occurred in building sites during lasts years, the worst case a libyan guy father of 2 lost his life trying to survive hanged from a prank tied up with rope to a roof water tank. Work proceeded the very next day as nothing happened. THIS IS MALTA.

We ask full power to a NON-MALTESE COMMISSION which will come to Malta and visit ALL excavation and building works and give ad advice from outside, as Maltese law is putting families in danger.

SHALL WE WAIT FOR ANOTHER TRAGEDY SIGNED BY MALTESE NEGLIGENCE?

Maltese Government clearly is NOT capable to control this mayhem and EU which funded and WILL fund the island for years HAS to take an action.
