Since 1989, the Associated Supermarket located at 255 West 14th Street has been an important source of affordable groceries for the people of Greenwich Village and Chelsea. Now, due to an exorbitant rent increase, this store is scheduled to close in May.

We appeal to the landlord, Pan Am Equities, Inc., to come back to the negotiating table and negotiate a new lease in good faith so that thousands of West Siders, many of whom are seniors living on fixed incomes, will not be left without access to affordable food.
