The Issue

I would like for the City of NY, TLC, MTA, DOT and other regulatory entities to do somehting and "LIMIT THE NUMBER" of app-based car services, such as uber, lyft, gett, juno, via, etc. in Manhattan and other areas, where transportation is already being offered. These app-based car service companies were and are a great solution for the under-served communities but the fact that all of them want to work in Manhattan at the same time, it became more a problem than a solution.  The DOT failed to evaluate the impact of adding over 60,000 cars to the already congested streets of NYC and I wonder if they consulted the "Street Design Manual" from DOT to weigh the implications of allowing those companies to add an unlimited number of cars to our streets. Manhattan became impossible to move around.  The noise, the traffic, bus lanes, bike lanes, trucks trying to deliver packages to both residential and commercial locations and we now have over 60,000 cars (if not more) with drivers using their cell phones (which is illegal in the first place) trying to locate their passengers creates a hazard for everyone in the city.
