Petition Update August 2023 I am pleased to update that my local MP, Bob Blackman has reviewed the petition and formally requested an update from Harrow Council. Service leads have reviewed policy and procedures following the incident and have verified that Harrow Council have: - purchased new Microchipping machines - distributed them to Street Cleansing Teams - updated policy and procedures to ensure that the Owners of deceased Pets are contacted on the day their Pets are found - ensured that policy is implemented by all teams with regards to how Pets are stored and owners contacted. The council acknowledged that they could not undo the harm they caused by the unfortunate event in December 2022 and admitted that protocols were not followed. Service reviews have ensured that changes have been fully implemented and that all teams involved treat pets/owners with respect, dignity and ensure processes are followed diligently. I would like to say a huge thank you to each and every one of you, for caring and taking time to read, sign, share and donate to this petition. Your response and signature has made a real difference and helped to ensure that concerns were heard by Harrow Council. Senior Leaders have formally verified to our Local MP that necessary changes have been made. I can now bring this petition to a close. The level of suffering my family and I experienced will not have to be endured by others. Thank you
