The issue
PETITION STARTED IN MAY 2015 NEEDS RESURRECTING - COUNCIL EXCUSES FOR NOT IMPLEMENTING A REPAYMENT PLAN IS AT BEST FEEBLE - THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RATES - PET REGISTRATIONS AND POUND RELEASE..
TRY RAISING YOUR REVENUE SOME OTHER WAY - NOT ON THE BACK OF MISERY AND ANIMAL SUFFERING...
An online petition has been started in a bid to have councils establish a payment plan process to help financially embattled residents save their impounded pets from death row.
The petition argues that councils already offer payment plans for rates and pet registrations and that a similar option would save struggling families from making the devastating decision whether or not to rescue their dog from the pound for financial reasons.
“Not everyone’s circumstance stays the same, jobs, illness, price of living and unforeseen hardships occur every day,” the petition states. “If council can be compassionate to the needs of extending peoples bills, then for heavens sakes, Help the people to help their pets get home! No one wants to choose death for their pets...
