I don’t think I’m alone in saying that the only food worth seeking out in the Costco food court is the churro. Don’t get me wrong, the ice cream, pizza, hot dogs, etc. are not bad, but they are weak in comparison to the godly nectar of Costco churros. In fact, today my mother asked me if I wanted to go to Costco with her today to shop for groceries. The only force driving me to join my mother’s quest for groceries was the idea of buying five or six churros for my consumption. But when I arrived at Costco and made my way to the food court, I noticed something missing. The menu constituted of pizza (both pepperoni and cheese, with the option to buy by the slice or whole), hot dogs, fountain drinks, ice cream cones, ice cream sundaes, fruit smoothies, and an item titled “Cold Brew Mocha Freeze”. Notice I did not list “churros”. I asked the lady working behind the counter about this, and she said that they were gone with no real promise of return. This is an outrage. They removed their trademark item from the menu! What would McDonalds be without the Big Mac? What would Burger King be without the Whopper? On top of the profit that Costco will inevitably lose due to this poor decision, they have ruined the feeling of nostalgia around the Costco food court, for me and no doubt millions of Costco customers nationwide. In conclusion, the prospect of bringing back the churro menu item in the Costco food court should be a no-brainer. My hope is to garner enough support for Costco to recognize this petition and understand what they have failed to comprehend, causing them to bring back the churro in their food court.
