On November 1st our school board meeting was FULL of educators wearing red and speaking on behalf of teachers across the district! THANK YOU to everyone who showed up!!! A special shout out to Florida Education Association President Andrew Spar for his presence and strong speech! And an EXTRA thank you to all the brave educators who spoke to the board for the first time tonight! Our unity, our collective voice, is what makes us powerful and is what brings HOPE to all the educators in Osceola.
But SDOC wants to drag out this process...
SDOC has the power to come back to the bargaining table with us on November 17th and offer a response. But tonight, the board decided that they won’t even meet together to discuss this issue until December 6th!
We will not be deterred!
We WILL be at the bargaining table on Nov. 17th (401 Simpson Rd, Kissimmee) and we know you all will be there as well! We will hold our leaders accountable, and we will continue fighting for our other open negotiation requests - supplement increases, class size supplements, and more!
As educators, we understand what it means to work for long term gains. We will continue to use our voice, continue to show our support, and continue to fight for all teachers to be able to have a livable wage!
Keep sharing the petition, keep sending emails, keep speaking to the media, and keep supporting our educators. We are in this together!!
Begin now by sharing tonight’s board meeting and news coverage!
