To the Corvallis School Board, 

Please slow down and use real data and evidence-based methods for your decision making.  We, the undersigned, are calling for a restart of the Corvallis School District school consolidation process using recommendations outlined by Oregon PTA’s School Consolidation Advisory Guidance document. The current district proposal and decision-making timeline--3 weeks for Letitia Carson Elementary and 8 weeks for Cheldelin Middle School--has failed to meet major outlined recommendations, including but not limited to: a 7-12 month process for proper data collection, engagement, analysis and planning; transparent outline of all major steps in the process, and; appointment of a representative community advisory committee, including marginalized communities.  For more information, please go to the SCS website.
