Tom Foreman started this petition to Cornwall County Council

Penzance Bay is an extremely popular open water swimming area, from Newlyn Harbour to St Michael's Mount. The town benefits from a large number of tourists wanting to swim safely in these areas, as well as a huge number of locals swimming the same stretch of water.

In recent years there have been a number of irresponsible power boat and jet ski drivers illegally driving far too close to the shore line, far too fast and in a highly irresponsible manner. At present there are no clear lines of communication to complain, no policing of these vehicles when they're in the water and little to no chance of catching irresponsible drivers as it's incredibly difficult to find out where they launched. In short, it's a accident waiting to happen.

I'd like to see an outright ban on power boats and jet ski drivers from Newlyn Harbour to St Michael's Mount. I'd like to make it clear that this doesn't include fishing vessels or rescue boats. Leisure users only.
