Stop the reclassification of the current common land at Illogan Woods and Nance Wood.
The Issue
This petition has been created to show the strength of public feeling against the reclassification of Illogan Woods and Nance Woods common land (Application 2994) The reclassification of this land will have a major impact on those living in the area as these are heavily used by the residents of Portreath, Bridge, Illogan in addition to the large number of visitors to the area.

Both Illogan and Nance woods are rich in wildlife including several protected species which are currently legally accessed areas of common land that are open for all to enjoy.
Reclassification of these vital areas of local woodland would have a hugely detrimental impact on both the people and wildlife that currently have open access within the woodlands and would prevent future generations to have open access to these natural areas.
In addition to the diverse habitat that this SSI has it is also a site of historic interest, with the Iron Age Nance Round involved:
