More outrageous waste, inefficiency, graft and gluttony, in and around Kremlin Kernow:

I'm not convinced about this 'transparency'. The article says that "In order to manage the scheme the Council has set up a wholly-owned company – Treveth Holdings Limited."

https://cornishstuff.com/2019/10/30/calls-for-transparency-over-councils-600million-investment-plans/

So, this is where £600million of borrowed money will be ''laundered''!
They call it ''blue sky thinking''; perhaps they ought first to focus on erupting overloaded sewerage systems:

This next article encapsulates the sickness at the heart of corporate life.
Cornwall Council, despite many warnings, is happy to associate itself with such dubious companies.

Two separate petitions; worth a sign, maybe? Some of these petitions do have an impact:

Bodmin continues to grow apace, but not for people from… Bodmin! (see main poto)

Dear Colleagues and Friends,
Today’s read is long but very relevant as it shows what goes on at Cornwall Council Hall, led by our overpaid CEO, Kate Kennally, who apparently does not believe in scrutiny or the democratic process.
The £150million, 30-year contract, was negotiated and agreed by employed civil servants, supported by a ten-member cabinet, without all members’ approval or democratic scrutiny.
Hypocrisy personified! These people, unless they have lost their marbles, would not commit their own money to such a situation. CEO Kate Kennally at Cornwall Council, the senior officers around her (Phil Mason and his ladies, including Tracie Langley, Sophie Hosking, Meredith Teasdale, Helen Charlesworth-May) seem to be, in addition to wasting millions of (our) pounds on developers and their white elephant projects, completely Covid-proof:

County Hall’s “wealth gap” just got wider as bosses pocket the same percentage pay rise as other staff
Cornwall Council’s chief executive is in line for a £4,800 pay rise following the conclusion of national talks resulting in a 2.75% increase. It will take Kate Kennally’s basic salary to around £180,000 per year (before perks, expenses, bonuses, pension and benefits).
A majority of trade unions representing other council workers accepted the same 2.75% rise. For most staff this means an increase of only £500-£1,000, and so the “wealth gap” between lowest and highest paid workers will now get significantly wider.
The pay rises for chief executives will be back-dated to April.
In Cornwall, the “hiring” rate is set by a committee of councillors which periodically reviews performance. (It seems this period must be over 25 years, given the performance of recent years!)
Ms Kennally still earns less than the £200,000 paid to Cornwall Council’s first chief executive, Kevin Lavery, in 2010. In 2011 Mr Lavery agreed to take a 5% pay cut in a bid to boost staff morale. He left the council the following year.
Ms Kennally's salary is also dwarfed by the £300,000+ paid to the boss of Falmouth University, Professor Anne Carlisle.

Finally, an email sent to councillors on 19th August 2020, re. yet another hub, and yet a few more millions of £££ of tax-payers' cash...

Subject: Hub Questions?
With news of plans to create a cycle hub at Newquay, it begs some questions.
We already have an aero hub and will soon have space hub.
1- How many hubs can we have?
2- Is there a limit?
3- Will someone impose a hub cap?
