However, the news that the Duchy of Cornwall are to receive a £9 million bung to build a stretch of road to serve its massive Nansledan development, places everything on a different level. Given that the Duke of Cornwall is ONE OF THE WORLD'S RICHEST MEN, who could if he wished to, solve most of Cornwall's problems at a stroke, we view this payment as a gross insult, and one too far, by Cornwall Council to the increasingly put upon people of Cornwall (which it actually exists to serve!). This is the final straw for us and tens of thousands of others who will be forced to pay for it via ever increasing council tax payments, let alone suffering the inevitable environmental degradation implied while reeling under an austerity policy that has decimated services, such as health provision, waste disposal, public toilets and libraries. Over the next few days and weeks, Cornish Solidarity will be repositioning itself by beefing up its policy of robust objection to what is being perpetrated in our names, by Cornwalls six MPs and an increasingly unfit for purpose Kremlin Kernow. THIS WILL OF COURSE BE DONE IN A LEGAL, CIVIL AND VERY TRANSPARENT MANNER, AS WILL BE REVEALED IN DUE COURSE. THE MONSTER THAT WILL EAT NEWQUAY. Now that Cornwall Council looks increasingly likely to get the go ahead to borrow £600million to create a ''growth fund'', the Duchy of Cornwall want and will almost certainly get a generous slice of it This is to pay for the link road from the A392 to the A3059 that will by pass Quintrel Downs to the West. This will act as a distributor road for the 4,000 house Nansledan development in the Chapel area East of Newquay which has already commenced at the St Columb Minor end. It is now a pretty safe bet that Cornwall will not be getting 52,500 houses as per the local plan, not even the 60,000 currently being peddled, but more like a 100,000, at the rate planning permissions are currently being dished out.
