This was alleged on social media this week: "I heard the whole (Redruth) inner bypass waste of money was simply to allow houses to be built on those fields, as they couldn't have a dual carriageway running through it; and this was all down to back-handers and high level corruption between the construction company (Percy "I'm not rich enough" Williams) and the County Council. Someone is making millions out of all this. It certainly isn't about improving Redruth, follow the money!Just what I've heard but where there is smoke..." Many supporters have suggested for many years that Cornwall be designated a National Park: "Does Cornwall merit the status of a National Park? It may be a way out of the madcap development rush and National Parks have their own autonomous Planning Authorities. The amount of land in Cornwall that is, on paper, covered by protective designations is immense!" (See main photo)
