Urgent request for help from one supporter:
"Save kernick Industrial Estate.
I have been asked by a few people about other developments as people are absolutely outraged by the potential compulsory purchase of John Tozer's farmland and wanted to confirm a few details as we know them.
Firstly, the Penvose student village is absolutely nothing to do with the purchase of Tozer's land; it is a separate development close by which is proposed, and the owners of the land are happy to sell.
The compulsory purchase is being proposed by Cornwall Council, as it is saying it will help it to "control development".
Why on earth would the council need to do this, when developments like the Penvose Village are available on land with consenting owners?
And WHY aren't the Council forcing the University to build the promised purpose built accommodation on campus, for which it has the land and planning permission, and only had the cap lifted on the proviso that it would do so?
How is this even being considered, unless of course they want to get in on the profits and are also fully expecting to lift the cap even further?"
These people are supposed to be sticking up for and representing our best interests, but as usual, are steamrolling us, the people who put them there and pay their wages, to make big profits; it is absolutely outrageous!"

"This is our mail for this week - a very important week for Falmouth and Save our Falmouth.
How did Save our Falmouth start and why is this week so important?
Back in March 2016 residents were made aware of the development of a large purpose built student block on the site of the Rosslyn Hotel. This week defending the decisions of the residents, Town Council and County Council who refused the planning permission we have the appeal hearing.
Please, please attend - the skyline of Falmouth will be changed forever if this permission is approved.
Remember that building large PBSA's will not free up family homes that are currently HMO's (who is going to give up a £100 room and share facilities to pay in excess of £150 a week)? Also that when the planning application to raise the numbers at Tremough Campus for an additional 2500 students, the accommodation provision was sufficient with passed planning permission for 1049 bedspaces on Campus, 300+ at Packsaddle, along with the further development at 'The Parkengue Strip' (former Granite Planet and Century Litho area, around 1000). These developments are near or on the campus and help to promote a 'green' transport policy.
In Falmouth we need to promote a balanced community, a town, historic port and tourist resort.
REMEMBER we are not a student town, we are a town that is happy to have students.
Attached is a poster with the information about the hearing and a picture of the skyline with the proposed development.
PLEASE attend! Please bring your friends and neighbours."
