As one person told me they were only interested in the phantom stadium for Cornwall, here's what one senior Cornwall Councillor wrote in April, about the shambles near clogged up Chiverton: "As everyone is probably aware Willow Green is or will be shortly on the market. It is to be sold by "tender" - I believe the date is 29th June this year. I am not convinced that Willow Green will not eventually be added to the CC portfolio!! However, West Langarth and Langarth are two different parcels of land/ownership. No matter which parcel of land CC officers are anticipating to purchase the unresolved issue of "infrastructure" remains. CC is the statutory Public Health Authority and it is disturbing to read that SWW expect to solve the problem by providing "holding tanks" in which they will store putrid sewage for onward transmission as and when there is capacity at the Sewage works. The paragraph of the report dealing with this matter is of the utmost importance….. who is going to pay for the construction of the Northern Access Road and have you noticed that the line of the proposed road has changed from the road shown in the statutory Threemilstone development brief 2012? Meanwhile the Council are making cuts of some £196 million - closing public conveniences, shedding the responsibility for libraries, failing to clean road signs and maintain road surfaces and failing to deal with "bed blocking" causing our one and only District Hospital to be continually on Black Alert. None of this is adding up…… it can only be described as gambling with Council Tax payers money."
