All the bins that were in place around Midleton designated for dog poop have been taken down and will not be replaced. This is due to Midleton Town Council not having the staffing resources to empty and maintain these bins. The Dog Poo situation in Midleton can only be described at horrendous at best, and now that these bins have vanished it will only worsen.

In the absence of any real deterrent (Dog Warden) to enforce the law, these bins at least gave the responsible dog owner whom picks up after their dog, a place to deposit their dog waste when walking in most areas of the town,and removing them goes against the policy of most other towns in Cork that provide such bins.
