Cops Should Be Funded More

The Issue

We believe that cops should be funded more. They do so much for us to keep us safe and are not rewarded enough. We believe they should receive more for all that they sacrifice to keep even one person from dying. We are starting locally in West Windsor, East Windsor, and Princeton—all in New Jersey. We want police pay to be increased by approximately $10,000 per year.

We believe this because these individuals wake up every day and do their job. They sacrifice their lives daily to help keep us safe. They are exposed to things no one wants to see or even think about—disturbing and traumatic situations that they must face as part of their job. If you’re in trouble, they’re the ones who show up to help you. Whether it’s responding to emergencies or solving crimes, their work is often dangerous and demanding.

They currently make approximately $55,053 per year, which is not even enough to buy a home in this area. It’s time we recognize their dedication with fair compensation. That is why we want to increase their pay. We are starting locally for now, but our goal is to increase police pay across all of New Jersey.
