Everyday at 4:10 pm students are sprinting from their class through the crowded hallways and to their cars. All the students are leaving the parking lot at the same time, and the parents are blocking the traffic flow. Student drivers are inexperienced, inconsiderate, and reckless. Im not sure why the parent loop was moved from where it originally was, it was working just fine. 

   Ive heard of some reasons as to why the loop was moved, teachers said "we need to get out too" and " having the loop at the back was too dangerous for pedestrians". Teachers and staff are required to stay after school to help with duty right? So why should teachers complain about the parent loop when they dont even leave at 4:10. Furthermore, I personally believe its more dangerous for the pedestrians now. Theres more cars in the parking lot trying to get out at once and most of the parents have no idea where the parent loop actually is. Not only are the pedestrians in higher risk of danger, but driving risks increase. Two days ago I was driving out of the parking lot and a minivan in front of me rear ended the car in front of them. The minivan was a parent.... Non-release students get out at 4:10, but leaving the parking lot sometimes takes up to 45 minutes to get out. What about the students that work? Or have to pick up their siblings? Also this is a big one, why are students required to pay $50-75 to park and we are the ones playing bumper cars, just trying to get out of the lot. Teachers and staff DO NOT pay to park, nor do they leave at the same time kids are leaving.

   As a student at CHS I am overly stressed about leaving school each day. The parent loop worked a lot better last year as it was in the back. Why haven't we move it back? This is a huge inconvenience and a definite safety hazard to Coppell High School students. Please sign this petition to voice your opinion and support the safety of us students!
