Copeland council announced on the 16th of March that we would no longer be allowed personal displays/memorabilia on families grave plots in their cemetery’s this is due to them “being unable to cut the grass” they’ve told us we have a month to remove all personal items the only thing allowed is a headstone 

This shouldn’t be allowed to go ahead, we pay for our grave plots and a lot of us (my family included) actually maintain our own grave meaning we don’t need Copeland to go anywhere near it. They’ve told us non the less it’s only fair ALL personal items are removed. Why should our beloved family members graves be left empty and impersonal to save the men on their lawnmowers from having to take some care and have some respect! 

like many others due to covid our time with our now passed family members was cut short as visiting was near impossible for two years, their graves should be a place we can go visit and feel closer to them and we should be allowed things to remind us of the beautiful people they were if we wish to do so.
