Steven Brown was wrongfully convicted 22 years ago. We'd like to have his case looked at.

The Issue

Twenty two years ago Steven Brown #416331 was picked up for questioning. It was believed by investigators Terril Shaw and James Fisher that he had participated in a homicide. He was then held 5 days before being arraigned. Mr. Brown  was placed in a lineup of course, and the key eyewitness, Chere Tutt, picked out Marcus Stewart, NOT STEVEN BROWN. The case against Mr. Brown should have ended right then, but it did not. The Detroit Police Department and the Prosecutor's office did everything possible to ensure that Mr. Brown was convicted of a crime that they knew he didn't commit. Their conduct was so egregious, that I'm reasonably certain it was criminal in nature, and that once the Federal Prosecutor's office gets wind of this, people could be prosecuted.

Twenty two years later, here he sits. His claims of innocence have fallen upon deaf ears, until now that is. Please include your signature on this petition to have Steven Brown's case be reviewed by the Wayne County Conviction Inegrity Unit, so that his name can finally be cleared and his family can finally receive the justice they deserve.

With the passage of the Wrongful Imprisonment Act of 2016, it is evident to even the casual observer, that the Michigan State Legislature intended for innocent prisoners to not only be released, but also financially compensated
