Convicted felons and background checks

The Issue

People have things on their criminal backgrounds that they did not do or get convicted of, that keeps preventing them from getting a job. The crimes on their background checks are crimes they have been charged with, NOT necessarily convicted of!! Its just not fair that this keeps stopping people who want to work from obtaining employment. Also, people do change and its not right to go off of a persons past history. People have households to maintain and children to take care of, they need a job and cannot get one due to their criminal background. Employers shouldn't even be able to go look up your criminal background if they are not allowed to ask you about it. How are people with criminal records supposed to find work if every employer does background checks? What are reformed criminals supposed to do to support themselves and their family? It is unjust and just down right dirty to refuse a person who is willing to work, a job. Some convicted felons must obtain employment as a stipulation to parole or a specific program they might be enrolled in from the court system. If background checks stop them from getting a job then they will go back to jail. That is not fair to a person who is trying to be better and change their lives around.
