Friday - May 8th - 1 year to the day since we as a community held Father Darrell DaCosta, YAI, The North Queens Homeowners Civic Association, (whose secretary Judy Ryan- sits on the board of Father Darrell's Council at Our Lady of Fatima as well as the Civic Association's President, Andre Vargas) - all accountable for language in the 30 year lease that was very misleading concerning the Conversion of the Convent neighboring the Pre-K to 8th grade Catholic Academy. YAI acknowledged the lease language and stated that it was clerical errors meant for another lease and the errors and stipulations requested would be amended within a few weeks. One year to the day - this upcoming May 8th- please join us as we will be taking a bus to YAI's headquarters in Manhattan as work on the Conversion of The Convent has picked up at a feverish pace with work being performed all throughout the day and overnight - with no updates or amendments to the lease. We will be demanding transparency from YAI as to the continued deceptiveness and disrespect to our community - Mike Pinto - who once sat on the council and pointed out the issues with the lease to Darrell DaCosta - in the presence of the secretary Judy Ryan prior to the Civic Association's heated meeting - was retaliatorily removed from the council for doing so will be joining us at the rally. The bus will be leaving Friday afternoon May 8th at 2:00pm from the Jackson Heights Shopping Center on 75th street and 21st avenue.
