An integral part of a successful convention is providing the attendees with a safe and comfortable atmosphere without having to worry about being stalked or harassed. An individual by the name of Chris Cruz has begun harassing female cosplayers online with sexually charged comments and private messages, as well as threats of physical harm toward people who have asked that he stop. While online interactions are one thing and generally can be easily resolved, his behavior has recently caused issues at his college, which resulted in his being expelled. He had taken up stalking female students and harassing them in person on campus grounds. This is alarming and has many female cosplayers and attendees feeling uneasy about the prospect of attending a convention he may be at. His actions are unacceptable and it would be in the best interest of attendees and convention staff alike should he be barred from future events.
