The Issue

I've been fortunate enough to be both a beneficiary and an employee of Freebee, a truly innovative and environmentally friendly transportation service that has been a vital part of Dunedin, Florida. Freebee offers free rides, which have become an essential service not only for the residents but also for the multitude of tourists who visit our beautiful city. By helping people travel within the designated areas of downtown Dunedin and its surrounding neighborhoods, Freebee has made transportation convenient, accessible, and sustainable.

However, this indispensable service is at risk of being discontinued. As an employee, I have witnessed firsthand the positive impact Freebee has had on our community. Families rely on it for school runs, tourists use it to explore without the hassle of finding parking, and many use it to commute to work or to support local businesses. The continuation of Freebee is not just about transportation—it's about maintaining a service that enhances the quality of life in our community and supports our local economy.

Freebee operates electric vehicles, reducing our carbon footprint and aligning with Dunedin's commitment to sustainability. Eliminating this service would not only inconvenience many but it would be a step backward in our pursuit of green and sustainable living.

I urge the city council and other relevant authorities to reconsider any plans to discontinue Freebee. Instead, let's look for ways to sustain and even expand this service. Some potential solutions could include public-private partnerships, additional funding or grants, or community fundraising efforts to support Freebee’s operational costs.

Please join me in preserving this vital service for our community. Sign this petition to show your support for continuing the Freebee service in Dunedin, Florida. Together, we can demonstrate our commitment to accessible, sustainable, and eco-friendly transportation options that serve us all.
