The news that something has finally started is welcome by many in our Community. At the moment the updates from the council show surfacing works taking place on the bridleways and footpaths around the Caddington Woods Estate. These works began on Monday.

Of course we won’t be satisfied until a compete route to the village is constructed. There are worries that robust plans do not exist to compete the original vision. A path all the way to the end of Markyate FP3. But it is a start and I for one will be keeping a close eye on progress. I’m yet to hear back from the definitive maps team who were responsive before a change in staff. Here’s hoping the first phase of works proceed well. And that the full project is delivered in a timely fashion. And to an acceptable standard for local residents.
