Your support and encouragement since this petition went live has been incredible. Central Beds council have yet to publish the full plans to their website. But I have visited the notices and maps that have been affixed at various points along the planned route.

The works are needed so that residents can access the amenities of Caddington Village safely and people can stay connected. Even on a warm sunny day like today parts of the current rights of way are completely waterlogged. A muddy mess in particular in the last section of the route leading up to the church.

It need not end with plan 4. The original proposal saw the route extend through Slip end and onto Markyate. We’ll campaign for this to be rolled out. Wouldn’t it be amazing if one day a traffic free corridor could extend right the way to Redbourn linking with the Nickey Line. To Harpenden and Hemel. Something to think about for the future.
