The MOM Line is an NJTransit proposal from the 90's to bring rail transit to Middlesex, Monmouth and Ocean Counties that remains as a "potential project" on their future slate of possible projects. This petition aims to urge NJTransit to finally commit to building this line, and connecting these counties to the rest of the NJTransit network.

Ocean County in particular is in express need of other options for new forms of transit. In 2025 they recorded the most fatalities in car crashes in New Jersey. Providing a fast option, around the traffic for people in Ocean County to get around would not only be beneficial economically, but make it significantly safer for everyone.

A large portion of the tracks that were originally considered for the MOM line have since been revitalized for freight use, which makes an approach similar to the River LINE or Glassboro Camden Line light rails in West NJ possible, and much less expensive than heavy passenger rail.
