I am a resident of Chesterfield. I love ice skating. However, the lack of an ice rink in our town has made my passion for this beautiful sport difficult to nurture. This issue goes beyond just my personal interest, as an ice rink would be a valuable addition to our community. According to statistics from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport, sports and recreational activities significantly contribute to the wellbeing and overall quality of life of individuals and communities alike. Utility of a local facility like an ice rink could provide Chesterfield residents with a new engaging pastime, as well as potential new sporting opportunities for our young people.
