I am a resident of Newcastle Co. Down, and I believe our area has untapped potential for outdoor activities that could benefit both locals and tourists alike. One such opportunity is the construction of a Velosolutions' pumptrack - an all-weather asphalt track designed for cycling without the cyclist pedalling. This would not only provide an exciting new way to stay active but also serve as a social hub where people of all ages can connect.

Velosolutions have constructed pumptracks all over the world, with a few being built in Northern Ireland over the last few years. There are several spots in Newcastle that would be suitable for a pumptrack, such as Donard Park, Downs Road and the old pitch and putt area which is no longer used.
