In Clermont County, OH, USA, our current animal shelter is located uncomfortably close to a shooting range. This proximity creates an environment of constant noise and stress for the animals housed there. Additionally, the shelter lacks sufficient outdoor space for animals to exercise and socialize. A study by Purdue University's College of Veterinary Medicine shows that environmental enrichment can significantly improve an animal's quality of life (Purdue University, 2018).
