Dear Joel Wurzler:
Thank you for contacting the New York State Department of Public Service. Your correspondence has been received and will be kept on file.
The Public Service Commission regulates public utility service provider within New York State. Delivery Rates for utilities subject to Commission jurisdiction are established through public proceedings called rate cases. You may research rate design by following the links below to the docket for each rate case.
Supply rate / cost is market driven and not regulated by this department.
These rates cannot be altered on individual bills and the department is unable to pursue a case against a utility for either type.
