Help disband Con Ed
The New York State senate passed a bill to make utilities in the state public thereby taking control away from Con Ed. This would lower utility bills. After a significant pressure campaign by the organizers in the Public Power New York, or PPNY, coalition, including multiple last-minute edits to the bill, BPRA passed the New York state Senate and reportedly had the votes in the state Assembly. But after powerful actors pushed Speaker Carl Heastie to kill it, it never made it to the floor for a vote. In order to get the assembly to vote, we must put pressure on Heastie who crumbled to special interests. Please email him as well as asking as many people as you can to get on board as well to urge him to push the bill forward.
