We, the people of New York City deserve a better electrical grid! Citizens do not deserve to sit in the struggle of having unstable electrical service coming into their homes. NYC has one of the oldest electrical grids in the country! We deserve a FULL update of the grid. With every aspect renewed and redesigned from the ground up. All the wiring, transformers, generation facilities, transformer to home delivery, etc. This all needs to be replaced. 

I am personally a victim in many many con Edison grid issue scenarios. In 2019 ConEd knocked out power to over 30,000 residents during the summer heatwave with no warning. They admitted to doing this intentionally to prevent damage to their equipment because they knew that the load was going to be among the most they have ever had. 

Every 10 minutes I get a notification from the citizen app, "Report of wires sparking", "Report of transformer explosion", "Report of an electrical fire, waiting for Con Edison to arrive on scene", "Report of downed wires over vehicle", and most often, "Report of maintenance hole fire". THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.

I personally experience mini outages very often, in Bergen Beach, Brooklyn. The latest one was on February 25, 2021. The lights started flickering and then got very bright and then went out for 10 seconds. This surge actually damaged a lot of sensitive electronic devices.

We already pay outrageous service and power delivery prices! Can we at least expect stable and safe electricity in our homes? 

WE NEED CON EDISON TO MAKE A CHANGE AND HELP US REBUILD THE BEST CITY IN THE WORLD.
