Why this petition matters

The Borough Of Conshohocken will vote on Feb 16, 2022 on whether they will move forward with Eminent Domain procedure for the property at 2 Harry St, most recently known as the "Outbound Station" (formerly a train station). The property is owned by Joe & Barbara Collins who are lifelong residents that currently live in the oldest standing home in the Borough. The Borough is proposing the building would be used for a museum, however, the actual ordinance states "The property interest condemned herein shall be for public purposes only including, but not necessarily limited to, public open spaces, parks, recreation, and parking".   The Collins have no interest in selling the property to builders if that is what the Borough is afraid of, they just signed an 18 yr lease with a tenant and above all Mr. Collins is about preserving the history of Conshohocken as one of the board members of its Historical Society.

The property itself is 20' x 77' which is the size of a postage stamp in comparison to the vacant land surrounding that is over a 1/2 acre and would make more sense for their proposed use.

Help us stop the Council Members from voting yes to Eminent Domain and taking away a residents rights to own and keep their properties!  If not stopped now, it could happen to anyone.
