Restore the No. 5 Bus service to Bromley Heath and provide a dedicated metrobus stop.

Restore the No. 5 Bus service to Bromley Heath and provide a dedicated metrobus stop.
The Issue
We, the undersigned, call on the West of England Combined Authority and the Metro Mayor to support the Number 5 bus service and allow it to continue to serve Bromley Heath and run in the evenings and on Sundays, keeping our communities in South Gloucestershire connected.
Conservative Councillors Ben Burton, James Griffiths and Liz Brennan (Frenchay and Downend Ward) believe that Bromley Heath is fast becoming a black hole for bus services with many being reduced or altered in recent years. The problem is exacerbated as residents in Bromley Heath are unable to take advantage of the fast metrobus service into Central Bristol because no stops directly serve local people.
The Number 5 bus is a service that many depend on in the community for traveling to work, to school and to visit friends and family. The decision by the West of England Combined Authority to allow these service cuts without any public consultation must be reversed.
With metrobus continuing to be rolled out and improved across South Gloucestershire, we also call for the Combined Authority and the Mayor to deliver a dedicated stop in Bromley Heath to ensure that the community is not left behind.
