Unless the current occupant of 10 Downing Street resigns, or is forced to resign, a serious and damaging precedent will be set.

Britons must not accept a "Do as I say, not as I do" political system in which people who make the law believe they are entitled to ignore it.

This is more than just drinks parties, it is about ethics, honour, honesty and integrity (or the lack of it) at the heart of British politics. We ignore it at our peril.

The apparent determination on the part of the Prime Minister to remain in post is an abdication of responsibility and an attempt to defend the indefensible. If he is unable to differentiate between a party ( illegal) and a business meeting ( legal) what happens when the security of the country is at stake? 

How many more parties, and how low must Boris Johnson stoop, before our representatives decide that the public have been treated with utter contempt by Boris Johnson and his "master of the universe" staff at No10?
