Wide dissemination of photographs of events like the My Lai massacre, broadcast on national network television, helped to galvanize the American public against the war in Vietnam. This is a critical time for American firearm policy. Citizens concerned with the public debate on gun control should have access to all relevant data on what firearms are, how they work, and what they do. The crime scene photographs of the Sandy Hook Elementary mass-shooting are an integral part of that data set, and the American public should have access to them now.
