The Issue

Petition for Connecticut’s Medical Marijuana Program

We, the patients, object to the CT Department of Consumer Protection’s MMP regulations that do not allow patients to obtain their marijuana medicine in the form of whole, natural buds, as is allowed in other MM States. The CT regulations require that producers sell homogenized (pre-ground) blends to dispensaries.

The DCP is requiring the homogenization of marijuana; however, the homogenization of marijuana negatively affects the quality of marijuana. Homogenized marijuana is not the form of medicine that most patients prefer, as most patients have been treating their medical conditions successfully with the buds of the marijuana plant. New regulations: State of Connecticut Regulation of the Department of Consumer Protection concerning Palliative Use of Marijuana, (NEW) Sec. 21a-408-58. Laboratory testing: http://www.ct.gov/dcp/lib/dcp/pdf/laws_and_regulations/reg-medical_marijuana-3-11-13.pdf

Until this summer, patients were unaware of these new regulations for homogenized marijuana. Patients, who have been allowed to register for the DCP MM program since October 2012 and who have paid the State high fees to register with no medicine available as of yet, have not had a voice in these new regulations.

Since CT’s dispensaries are due to open to dispense medicine around mid-September, it is urgent that CT MM patients sign this petition so that CT will make it possible for patients to have their MM as whole, natural buds for quality medicine. #JustSayNo #Connecticut #Homogenized #AllHailCannabis
