Connect the Putnam Trail in Van Cortlandt Park, Bronx.

Connect the Putnam Trail in Van Cortlandt Park, Bronx.

The Issue

The current Parks Department plan will include the paving and extension of the very muddy and badly-rutted abandoned railroad tracks to meet the needs of ALL users, including those who currently cannot use it, like people in wheelchairs, most cyclists, rollerbladers, and those with baby carriages, as well as walkers and runners. Once completed, the new, multi-surface Putnam Trail will better connect New Yorkers to greenways in the Bronx and Westchester and Putnam Counties.
