Dear Congresswoman Meng,

We are your constituents - residents of West, Central and Northeast Queens  writing to implore you to help stop an ongoing genocide, conducted in our names, with our tax dollars. 

The Israeli government has openly called for a genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, and the Biden administration has given them the greenlight to carry it out. Over the weekend, as the Israeli government escalated its onslaught on Gaza, White House officials said that they would impose “no redlines'' on the Israeli military.  The Israeli government has taken that literally  – killing 8,000 Palestinians​, more than 3,000 of them children​, rendering nearly 1,000,000 Palestinians in Gaza homeless, and cutting off all access to food, water, medicine, electricity and communication with the outside world. 

To end an ongoing genocide, we need an unequivocal call for an immediate ceasefire. You’ve recognized the importance of ceasefires in Israel and Palestine before, in 2021 – and now still have time to do the right thing at this critical juncture that will go down in history for generations to come. You have the power and responsibility to speak with moral clarity both in conscience and in the name of your constituents. 

Do not wait any longer - join the call for a ceasefire now and sign on to House Resolution 786, just as have Representatives Bowman, Ocasio-Cortez, and Velasquez from the New York delegation.
