The Awarding of Child Disabled w/ Parent Benefit Status vs. Child w/ Parent Benefit Status

This petition is to implement a Child Disabled w/ Parent Benefit Status to show that the child was deemed eligible to receive SSI Benefits. This affords for a smoother process when child is transitioning to a Disabled Adult with Parent Benefits. There is no labeling of a disabled  child receiving a parent's benefit, just a child receiving these such benefits. The Social Security Administration should be flagged to show this child has undergone the initial process.  For example if a child is  eligible for SSI and a parent passes away, they may be eligible for Survivor benefit. A child may receive the Survivor benefits because the Survivor benefits pays a higher amount. The child is still disabled, but per the SSA, he was not eligible to receive SSI at the time because he no longer met the requirement due to him receiving the Survivor benefits. When the child turns 18 and is no longer a student, by law, benefits will stop for him as a surviving child.  The Social Security Administration must have an adult medical determination to see if your child still meets the eligibility criteria as a disabled adult child.  Hence the need to have a law in place  to not have such a long process that causes an interruption in benefits.
