The Issue
Most Americans feel powerless. They shouldn't.
For decades, Congress has ignored what the public overwhelmingly wants — not because these things are impossible, but because there has been no organized consequence for ignoring the people.
This petition is the beginning of that consequence. Not a policy demand. A reckoning.
Harvard research on political movements spanning more than 100 years shows one consistent finding: when roughly 3.5% of a population acts in coordination — about 12 million Americans nationally, and a measurable threshold in every Congressional district — governments cannot ignore them. No nonviolent movement at that threshold has ever failed.
We are not there yet. But we are building it. And Congress should understand what coordinated Americans can — and will — force:
A $600 TELEHEALTH MODEL that delivers the same care Americans pay $10,000 for today, authorized on the ACA Exchange where Congress could place it tomorrow. Extended to Medicare and Medicaid, this model would save taxpayers trillions every year — funding every other change the public has been waiting for. Congress will have no excuse.
AN END TO UNAUTHORIZED MILITARY OPERATIONS burning over $1 billion a day without a formal Congressional declaration or public mandate.
REAL OVERSIGHT OF EXECUTIVE ORDERS that reshape healthcare, rights, and economic survival — while Congress stands silent, answering to donors instead of the people who elected them.
These are not the only issues. They are examples of what becomes possible when the public has leverage.
Not because we agree on everything. Because we agree on this: Congress must answer to the people — not to donors.
