Allow Stem Cell Therapy in the United States

Allow Stem Cell Therapy in the United States
Why this petition matters
It seems like every time we turn on the news, there is another report about cell therapies and their potential to revolutionize treatment for heart disease, cancer, diabetes and so much more. We think of our parents, our children, ourselves -- will these therapies be available by the time we need them? Well, so far, the answer has been no. Despite decades of proven research, regulatory red tape and bureaucratic waffling have meant that cell therapies are not accessible to patients in the U.S.
According to a recent governmental report, “virtually any disease that results from malfunctioning, damaged or failing tissues may be potentially cured through regenerative medicine treatments.” It is revolutionary, and many safe treatments are available now in Europe and Japan. Numerous U.S. investors have even turned their attention, and their funds, to these other countries because of their willingness to accept innovation and move forward with life-saving new products.
But a movement to address this problem here, at home, is finally underway. The bipartisan Regrow Act has been introduced in the Senate to create a new regulatory pathway to bring safe and effective treatments to patients in the United States.
If it passes, the Regrow Act will help cut bureaucratic red tape and open the door to one of the most exciting innovations in modern medicine. Please sign our petition urging the Senate to expedite passage of S. 2689, the Regrow Act, so that by the time our families need these treatments, they will be available.
Thank you.
