On April 2, dubbed "Liberation Day," Donald Trump upended free trade and imposed massive tariffs on dozens of countries, including our allies.

While Trump claims this trade war will "make America wealthy again," we know the truth: Consumers will bear the burden of rising costs. Congress must come together to protect everyday Americans and block Trump's aggressive tariffs.  

We know this is possible. This week, we already saw Republicans break away from Trump to pass a measure that would revoke the Canadian tariffs. Senators Susan Collins of Maine; Rand Paul and Mitch McConnell of Kentucky; and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska — joined 47 Democrats in supporting the measure. 

Senator Collins gave a speech on the Senate floor, and her words resonate: “If these tariffs go into effect, it will be so harmful. And as price hikes always do, they will hurt those the most who can afford them the least.”

Our elected officials have a responsibility to the voters that put them in office, not to Donald Trump's vanity. Sign this petition to demand that the House of Representatives pass the measure to reverse tariffs on our northern neighbor, and take further action to walk back the trade war launched by Trump.
