Sit in Alphabetical Order

Sit in Alphabetical Order
The Issue
The two houses of Congress are dysfunctional. Only around 15% of Americans approve of the job Congress is doing. The divisive rhetoric and vitriol only hampers progress and leads to further dysfunction. Members from the two parties even refuse to sit together, deciding instead to group themselves with like-minded people, further reinforcing their ideologies and sheltering themselves from others. While Congress doesn't often sit in full session, forcing members to sit in alphabetical order will force them to sit next to those they may disagree with. It's much less likely the divisive and hateful rhetoric will continue when a Congressperson has to sit next to the person they are speaking against instead of sitting several sections over. It's not much, but it's a start in the right direction to get Congress working together to fix problems rather than working against each other for political gain.
