Congress outlaw mountaintop mining, it's a crime

The Issue

It's an environmental crime!  Mountaintop removal mining is a terrible environmental tragedy for our country.  Hundreds of bare, flattened mountaintops in Appalachia are a hideous reminder of what was once gloriously beautiful, and nearby streams, filled with dumped debris, are clogged and toxic. Biologically diverse forests have been clear-cut and the wildlife dependent on them has been wiped out.
