Dear Supporters, Last year, you were instrumental in keeping chicken processed in China out of school meals. But now we need your help to make that victory a permanent one. In December, thanks to the almost 329,000 of you who signed our Change.org petition, Congress included a provision in the fiscal year 2015 omnibus appropriations bill which barred the federal funding of any poultry processed in China for use in school meals or other federal child nutrition programs. However, our victory message to you included this caution: To continue to keep Chinese-processed chicken out of school meals and other federal child nutrition programs, this provision will need to appear in subsequent annual appropriations bills, or it will need to be included in the five year child nutrition reauthorization bill in 2015. That’s why we need your support once again!
