Dear Supporter, By signing our petition last year, you helped me and Nancy Huehnergarth successfully keep Chinese chicken out of school meals. Because you care about the health and well-being of school children, I’m now seeking your support for a new petition I launched last week at www.Change.org/Stop540Meals. I recently learned that McDonald’s is trying to get a 20-minute documentary into schools around the country under the guise of “nutrition education.” But when I actually viewed 540 Meals: Choices Make the Difference, I was horrified to discover that it’s little more than a McDonald’s infomercial, one that’s likely to result in kids eating even more fast food than they do now! With one in three American kids already overweight or obese, we need to stop this misguided and aggressive in-school marketing program in its tracks.
